Our History

1. The Monati recipe was developed by a professor at Onderstepoort in 1994.
2. The recipe was purchased from the professor by Ena and her late husband in 1997
3. From 1997 to 2005 it was sold through Ena's pet shop in Sunward Park, Boksburg to bird breeders in the Boksburg, Brakpan, Kempton Park and Vanderbijlpark areas.
4. In 2006 Maurice joined Ena and Monati Bird Food cc was established. New packaging and labeling was introduced and the product introduced to pet shops throughout Gauteng and the Free State.
5. In 2007 a Hand-Rearing version was introduced, which became very popular.
6. In 2008, Nutripet was appointed our distributor for the Eastern Cape. New Dried Fruit and Nuts, Tropical Parrot Mix and Doughnuts products were added to our range.
7. At the beginning of 2009, Toni and Ann Iglauer joined Ena and Maurice as partners in the business. Eddie and Lynne Hughes were appointed our representatives in the Western Cape. At the same time, Roland and Anke Bauer of A & R Pet Supplies of Windhoek were appointed our Namibian distributor.
